Get involved
Your donation can help break the cycle of inherited cancer for Australian families.
Did you know there are other ways to donate to Inherited Cancers Australia?
Workplace giving
Workplace giving enables you to give directly to a charity from your pre-tax pay. It is one of the simplest, most tax-efficient and cost-effective ways to donate. As a bonus, employers can choose to match funds donated by their employees, giving you an additional incentive to get involved.
Why participate in workplace giving?
Workplace giving eliminates the need for you to collect receipts to claim the tax benefit and giving from your pre-tax income means donations cost you less while charities still receive the full benefit of the donation.
How to join a workplace giving program?
Find out if your organisation currently has a workplace giving program. If they do, ask the payroll department to deduct your nominated donation amount to Inherited Cancers Australia from your pre-tax salary each pay period, and your employer will make these donations to Inherited Cancers Australia on your behalf.
If your organisation does not currently have a workplace giving program, now is the perfect time to suggest this as an addition to any existing community programs. For further information on setting up a workplace giving program please email.
Bequest
Leaving Inherited Cancers Australia a bequest of any size in your will is a powerful way to ensure that your generosity continues to make a significant difference to those affected by inherited cancers beyond your lifetime. If you would like to ensure that all or part of your estate is bequeathed to Inherited Cancers Australia, it is a good idea to seek professional legal advice to update your will and ensure your wishes are met.
What can my gift be?
Your gift can take a variety of forms:
- Residuary – the remainder of an estate after specific gifts have been disbursed
- Percentage – a percentage of either the residue or the entire estate
- Pecuniary – a specific gift of cash
- A specific asset – real estate, shares, bonds or other particular items of value
Residuary and percentage are the most beneficial forms of bequest as they hold their value over time, as opposed to a dollar amount, as the value of your bequest could be significantly eroded by inflation between the time you write your will and the time it is administered.
Suggested wording
If you would like to make a bequest, you will need your solicitor to insert a clause in your will, such as:
“I give and bequeath to Inherited Cancers Australia the rest and residue of my Estate Duty to be applied for the purpose of the said charity in such manner as the Board of Directors thereof may determine and I declare that the Receipt of its Chief Executive, Treasurer or other authorised officer shall be a complete discharge of this Bequest.”
We understand that leaving a gift in your will can be a significant decision and we are extremely grateful to you for considering supporting Inherited Cancers Australia in this way.

Partnerships
Inherited Cancers Australia is a respected charity with a powerful digital brand and a large national and active community. We enjoy partnering with other organisations on a national level in ways that benefit our community and supports our mission, while helping organisations meet their corporate social responsibility goals. Our team have run many workshops for our partners educating their teams on inherited cancers, self-breast checking and sharing our communities lived experiences helping bring to life the impact of your support. We believe collaboration is the key to successful fundraising, community building and awareness raising.
We understand that not every brand or business is in a position to contribute financially to a collaboration. That is why we can create a pro-bono or in-kind partnership, utilising your staff, services and/or products in a way that will have a positive impact on our organisation and our work, and providing your business with….
Over the past decade, we have partnered with some incredible brands for exciting collaborations. These have helped us stand out from the cluttered not-for-profit space and given our partners leverage into new markets and ensured they are meeting their corporate goals.
Meshki
In 2021, for International Women’s Day, Australian fashion retailer Meshki partnered with us to empower women to check their breasts, know their bodies, and understand their risk of hereditary cancer. As part of this collaboration, Meshki donated $5 for the sale of every piece of their exclusive Meshki Denim collection for March.
Elm Lifestyle
Since 2020, Elm Lifestyle has been a proud partner, generously supporting us in multiple ways. Over the years, they have donated 20% of sales from their tote bags, sold our lipsticks in their 30 stores across Australia, and sponsored the Fashion Parade at our Sydney High Tea. In 2023, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Elm designed a beautiful t-shirt, with the proceeds from this initiative enabling us to take eight community members on an all-expenses-paid retreat.
Branded Products
Through their Giving Back to the Community Program, Branded Products has established a way to support the communities where their clients are based by partnering with charities that support people with cancer, mental health concerns and medical research. For every order exceeding $1,000, Branded Products® donates to one of their chosen charities. As one of the selected charity partners, we are grateful for their continued support.
